The key to enjoying a book in a genre that you don't usually read is for the characters to mean something to you. And that is what happened for me with this gem.

Home, what does home mean to you? Is it the place you go to every night? Or the person...

Hartley is not your pouting rich-girl princess, needing a man to fix everything for her. In fact, now that her safe little world has been blown apart by her discovery that her father and her boyfriend are not the honest, decent people she needs them to be, she is more than capable of making her own way in the world. Extremely intelligent, and a good person at heart, what matters most about Hartley is her passion for the things she really believes in. I like that in a leading female character.

Crew is not your alpha male who treats everyone badly and blusters around getting by on looks alone. Sure, he is a bit broken - but so is Hartley, and aren't we all - but he also has his passions. He has a past, some of which haunts him still, but there is so much more to him. And yes, he does sound super hot as well (this is a book that is just begging for one of those reviews with the super cute gifs throughout), but that is only part of who he is as well.

Intelligently written, soooo easy to read, Still Waters had me laughing in parts and tearing up in others. I wanted to know what was going to happen to these people, and I cared about the decisions they made. A great book made even more incredible by being a début novel.

Loved this book. Great first novel. Would have like a bit more drama regarding the trial & why exactly Crew had to have security guards but otherwise a very enjoyable read.
This is a well-thought-out story that keeps you interested and connected to the characters the whole way through.

The New-Adult genre isn't one I'm wholly familiar with, but I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in the World of Still Waters all the same.

What a fabulous debut novel, I can't wait to read more of her work.
If you enjoy romance that you have to work for that makes your eyes tear up this is the book for you

I REALLY enjoyed this book.
I've only just got around to reviewing it and it feels like ages since I read it but I remember the characters, the plot and the way it made me feel clearly. To me that's a sign of a great author.
The story is told in such a descriptive way that I can still visualise the beach, the amazing treehouse and the intensity between the characters.
I highly reccomend this read!
I actually really loved this story. For a debut book it was really impressive. The author captured the essence of her characters, and I was emotionally invested in the characters and their relationship from the first chapter. It was a beautiful love story which I look forward to reading again. Definitely recommend.
I enjoyed this novel. The story kept me reading, I did not want to put the book down. I several books pre week at least 4or 5. It was a totally differnt novel and really look forward to more books from Rebecca Addison, the sooner the better. Good story!
